Historian’s Creed
This is my history text.
There are many like it, but this one is mine.
It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
I will learn my book and all its parts.
I will keep my book safe and presentable, even as I am safe and presentable.
We will become part of each other.
On my text I swear this creed;

My history text and I are the inquisitors of truth.

We are the masters of the human narrative.

We are the saviors of civilization.

So be it; until this class is concluded and I an author of history.
